Personal API (MCP)
Ask your own AI tool,
and it searches with Factdock.
We let members on a paid plan connect their own AI assistant, code editor or note tool to Factdock through MCP, the standard way AI tools connect to outside tools. The searches you use in the app — web, academic papers, patents, companies, trade, finance, real estate, infrastructure, contracts and medical databases — become tools your AI can call, with sources and results translated into the language you choose.

Three steps to connect
Setup takes a few minutes. After that, you simply ask your AI tool a question, and it calls Factdock when it needs to search.

Issue a key, or approve a login connection
On the API integration page in the app, issue a personal API key (shown once only), or — for apps that support login connection — skip the key and approve the connection on our screen.
- STEP 02
Register Factdock in your AI tool
Add our connection URL to your AI tool's MCP settings. The page in the app shows ready-to-copy settings for common tools.
- STEP 03
Ask your AI tool to search
Ask in plain words. Your AI tool picks the right Factdock search, and the results come back with their sources, translated into the language it requests.
Two ways to connect
Login connection (no key needed)
For AI apps that support login connection, register our connection URL in the app's connector settings. Our approval screen opens; when you allow it, the app is connected to your account.

Personal API key
For AI tools and editors that are set up with a key, issue a personal API key on the API integration page and paste it into the tool's settings.
- Choose an expiry: 30 days, 90 days, 1 year or none
- The key is shown only once and is stored only in a form that cannot be restored
- Stop a key at any time; it stops working immediately

Multilingual web search
Research across countries and languages, with source tiers and translated titles and summaries.

Public infrastructure plans and tenders, contract review against a country's law, and two-step contract drafting.
Medical and veterinary references
Searches of official drug-label databases and the literature, plus veterinary cross-checks — as complementary reference tools that do not diagnose.
Global Insights feed
Read the Global Insights shown in the app. Headlines come in your language where a stored translation exists; otherwise in the original language, for your AI tool to translate.
How points work
There is no separate API price. A search through the API uses your points exactly as the same search in the app does.
Each search: same price as in the app
When your AI tool runs a search, the points for that search are used, at the same price as in the app. Searches charged per country or per page in the app are charged the same way.
Connecting itself is free
Connecting, listing the available tools and checking the connection use no points. Points are used only when a search runs.
Global Insights: a small amount per call
Each Insights call uses a small number of points and counts toward your plan's monthly Insights limit. No new translation is run for it.
Failed processing is not charged
If processing fails on our side, the points for that search are returned, just as in the app. If your balance is short, the search does not start and no points are used.
Built-in protection against runaway use
Request limits
Per account: up to 30 tool calls a minute, 300 an hour and 1,000 a day. Above that, calls are refused rather than charged.
Stops repeated identical calls
If the same tool is called with the same input again and again in a short time, we stop it so an AI tool stuck in a loop cannot use up your points.
Balance checked before multi-step searches
Searches that run in several steps check that your balance covers all of them before starting, so nothing is charged halfway.
No automatic re-runs
We do not quietly retry a paid search. One request runs one search.
Scope of use and points to note
Paid plans only
The personal API is available while you are on a paid plan. If the plan ends, issued keys and connections stop working.
Personal and in-house use
Use it for yourself and for your own work or your organisation's internal work. Building it into a service offered to others, and redistributing or reselling the data, are not permitted. For product integration, see Factdock for Developers.
Text only
Features that need an image or file — image matching, reading documents from files — are not available through the API. Use them in the app.
Reference information, not advice
Results are reference information, not legal, medical, veterinary, financial or investment advice, and not grounds for diagnosis. Finding no data does not mean safe or low risk.
Keep your key private
Do not share a key. If it may have leaked, stop it on the API integration page straight away and issue a new one.
Frequently asked questions
Who can use the personal API?
Members on a paid Factdock plan. It is not available on the free tier or before sign-up.
Does it cost extra?
No separate fee. Each search uses your points at the same price as in the app, and connecting itself uses none. Global Insights calls use a small number of points each, within your plan's monthly limit.
Which AI tools can connect?
AI assistants, code editors and other tools that support MCP. Apps that support login connection can connect without a key; others use a personal API key. The API integration page in the app shows settings for common tools.
What language are results in?
Search results are translated into the language your AI tool requests. Global Insights headlines come in that language where a stored translation exists; otherwise in the original language.
What if an AI tool keeps calling the same search?
Repeated identical calls in a short time are stopped, and there are per-minute, per-hour and per-day limits, so a loop cannot keep spending your points.
